Andy's conference call ended with no major shake-up, which is a relief. Instead, the company shifted around a few of the VPs to make room for a new VP of Sales. This position, as it turns out, has been given to one of Andy's peers, Jeremy. Thankfully a guy he really likes, and perhaps more importantly, likes him too!
Jeremy will travel around the country, working the various territories with the sales team. He'll join Andy at trade shows & then stick around for the follow-up appointments. I also imagine he'll be helpful in dealing with a lot of the technical issues Andy has had to face in the past few months. And while Andy will probably travel just as much in 2010 as he did in 2009, our hope is it'll be more productive... and in turn more profitable.
There will also be a new bonus structure & multiple sales incentives implemented. All meant to help boost the sales team, and of course, their income too.
During the call Andy texted Jeremy his congrats on the promotion. Jeremy replied by saying "this means you can't leave!". Hopefully these changes will make it easier to stay.
