Last night, after a long labor ending in a c-section, my sister-in-law Jill gave birth to a beautiful baby girl!
Violet Barbara Pierce was born at 10:35pm at 7lbs, 13oz; 20 inches long.
Jill is such a trooper & I am so proud of her!
Violet is absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to hold her!!
This birth makes Charlie's arrival seem that much more real.
I realize that sounds silly, considering I've been kicked in the ribs and bladder now for many months, but having Violet here puts us up to bat. For the entire duration of this pregnancy to this point, I've been exactly 10 weeks behind Jill. Now that Jilly is a mommy, it means we have roughly 10 weeks until our little guy arrives.
It's a funny thing to be nervous about. I feel I should be more seasoned, having done this already once before, but this time around is different. With the move, house-hunting, job switch and uncertainty in the months ahead of us, I can't help but feel a little guilty that a 10 week cushion makes me happy at this point.
Once July 22nd arrives, I will be overjoyed to meet my youngest son. (And hopefully I'll have a nursery for him too!) But in the meantime, I'm going to soak up this beautiful little girl who has joined our family.
