Sprinkler fun

This week Jack discovered the joy of a sprinkler.
Andy was watering the flowers in our front beds when Jack realized just how much potential for fun sat on the ground before him.

Seeing him run around the yard, soaking wet and giggling, took me back to the days when the sprinkler and some sunshine was all you needed to have a good time. The smell of the water hitting the warm pavement was incredibly nostalgic. For me, back in the late 70s/early 80s, this mainly took the form of our hose hooked up to a big clown head. He had a pointy hat that would fly up in the air as soon as the water began to flow. I still think of it and smile, though now the thought of water flowing out of a strange little body-less clown doesn't seem as cute as it did then.

I was at work during most of Jack's discovery, but was able to snap a few shots on my cell phone when I got home. I don't think I've ever seen a happier, soggier little guy!

Oh my goodness! Who IS that tall boy with the face that looks longer and older but still familiar? Boo hoo! He's growing up, literally, before my eyes! I miss you!
